"Built about 1810 by Edward Cutts, a son of Capt. Samuel Cutts, and a merchant of high standing in Portsmouth. The grounds were laid out in beautiful style, and the orchards were filled with remarkably fin fruit. Mr. Cutts’ son Hampden resided here after his father’s death, until 1833, when he left town, and the house was sold."

North Street is now called Maplewood Avenue.
